The legendary composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, wrote the music for this hit musical act. Not only is the show one of the best-selling musicals of the 20th century, it's still performed internationally in almost two dozen different languages. Its debut took place in London in 1981. Reviews were so high, just one year later, Broadway opened its doors to this widely-talked about performance. That same year, it won 'best musical' for the Olivier Awards. Two years later in 1983, the show took home over half a dozen Tony awards - winning 'best-of' categories including Lighting, Sound, Acting, and Direction. Cats is the longest running musical in New York theater history.
