The 1987 smash romantic-hit (starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey) has spawned into a successful theatrical stage performance. The first show was held in Australia back in 2004. All of the original movie's songs were used in the stage production version along with some added features not seen in the movie. In just the first six-months, it had set all-time selling records for a theater / stage show in London. Tickets had been impossible to purchase with the three-to-four month waiting list due to it's fast and seemingly unexpected success. Once the show production was incorporated by Canadian theaters, it became Canada's fastest selling show in the country's recorded history.
