Started by American rocker, Dave Grohl, this band took-off right away from their debut album in the mid-1990s. As the former drummer and song-writer for the hit band, Nirvana (which peaked in the early 90s), he partnered up with his old record company (Capitol Records) to present to them his new music and idea for a rock band. He decided to steer-clear from inviting former Nirvana musicians to join the new group for fear of being tagged with the 'Nirvana' franchise. Today, they have been nominated (and won) for various music awards - including multiple Grammys and MTV Music Awards. Some of the most well-known hit singles are 'This is a Call', 'All my Life', and 'Best of You'.
