Often classified as a 'rock musical', this show is not for every member of the family and parental guidance should be used before inviting the children along. The plot surrounds several young, struggling musicians in New York City - trying to get their big break. The original plague, Tuberculosis, is transformed into AIDS in this modern edition of the musical. The actors are portrayed as homosexuals and bisexuals - many of which are HIV positive. While the Tony award-winning theater show is filled with quality, entertaining rock music and rock ballads, the disease-ridden plot lines are sometimes too powerful and overwhelming for the unsuspecting audience member.
